Food Recovery – Feed The Hungry

Neighborhood House in Portland, Oregon helps low-income, recent immigrant and other vulnerable people overcome challenges so they can achieve success, stability and independence. Neighborhood House’s Emergency Food Box Program is operated without public funding, so community support is vital!”

Part of the Portland Office volunteered at the Neighborhood House on January 13th to help the facility with stocking and repacking of food recovery.

NOTE for readers: we saw lots of breads and sweets at the facility, which are not as nutritious. When donate foods, please try to make sure that they are real beneficial for people who are eating them. Also, some facilities receive pet foods, household items (toilet paper, detergents, etc.) and feminine/infant products. It’s a good idea to check with your facility and see if they receive those goods.
